Shoot to Kill plot

"It's about staying alive."

Revised after more than 10 years, and still thoroughly entertained with it. The opening is good but the movie really only gets fun when the criminal goes into the woods. From time to time beautiful shots of nature and enough exciting moments especially the scene in which Berenger clambers on that cable, the 'cart' comes loose, and where he falls down himself is an outlier . The necessary humor is also present, the meal and the accompanying discussion about what a marmot is and the situation with the bear are fun moments, for example. Poitier and Berenger play their roles strongly.

Sidney Poitier's comeback. A whimsical movie. A strong, brutal opening announces a firm thriller, but once in the wilderness it occasionally becomes a funny buddy movie with quite a lot of comic relief. Urban guy in the woods, that works. There is sometimes something nice in there (that moose for example) and it also has a few nice adventurous antics, but despite that it gradually loses the grip it got in Frisco. The casting of the group in which the killer resides is also smarter than the script in that area. There Spottiswoode never gets it completely under power and the mystery of who is the killer is bluntly revealed. Two factors that ensure that the final does not live up to what the opening promised.

Another childhood memory from the period when the number of channels stopped at three. You were happy with the movie that aired on Saturday night 1 regardless of the genre or who starred in it. Also this film, a film that I had lost for a long time and I couldn't find, partly because I believed that Danny Glover played the part of Stantin. Well, then you can search for a long time...

Deadly Persuit starts off as a thriller/film noir in which FBI agent Stantin tries to end a hostage situation. The man escapes and accidentally ends up in a group of anglers, who then travel a lot to never be seen with a rod, who go into the wilderness under supervision. Not a bad idea in itself, crossing the border to Canada. Yet Stantin is on his tail again along with another guide.

The film then characterizes itself as a fine thriller, with a good cast, in a beautiful setting. It is true that there are some gaps, but the generosity of the bad guy in the beginning and the fact that you do not know exactly who the perpetrator is within the fishing group, supplemented by the friction between city boy Stantin and country boy Jon, which provides the necessary humor and discussion, Deadly Persuit cannot be called a topper, but it is certainly doable and doable for once.
