Definitely a good thriller, but I expected a bit more.

Rami Malek acts really well.

The film also starts well, the pace is fine.

But towards the end the film loses my attention and its strength.

It remains to be seen whether this film will attract many people to the cinema.

Saw the film yesterday in the cinema. Recently I read somewhere that the film would have a lot of speed, I found the beginning of the film much too slow and even a bit boring. Developing characters and making the motive of the main character clear is good in itself, but this really took too long. This film of over 2 hours could have been shorter, which would have benefited the film.

Classic mistake is also that the trailer shows all the beautiful stunts that are in the film. There are no surprises in that respect. At the end there is a nice plot twist, but otherwise the film is very predictable and unbelievable. Also reminded me strongly of the Jason Bourne films, but those are still a class better.

Nice to see Malek in a different role. The role of smart nerd suits him well. Another fantastic supporting role from Fishburne. Undoubtedly a part 2 will follow soon. 6/10

IT expert and professional codebreaker/hacker Charlie Hacker [Rami Malek] decides to take matters into his own hands when it turns out that the CIA is not willing to help track down the terrorists responsible for an attack in London in which Charlie's wife [Rachel Brosnahan] is killed. He assumes a false identity and, after intensive training from an experienced CIA agent [Laurence Fishburne], travels through Europe at his leisure while liquidating one person after another in a convoluted (but certainly not subtle) manner. If you can blindly accept that Charlie can do absolutely anything with a laptop and a phone, then you might have less trouble with the absurd plot of this modern version of MacGyver. At least MacGyver showed how he set up his traps, Charlie leaves that out. Not so much to surprise the audience, but out of laziness and to cover up how ridiculous the story actually is.
