It all begins in Sicily, the day Tonio, son of Léonce, king of bears, is kidnapped by hunters... King Léonce, taking advantage of the severity of winter, which threatens his people with famine, decides to leave in search of toni. He invades the area where people live. With the help of his army and a magician, he eventually finds Tonio and takes charge of the country. But he will soon understand that the bears may not be fit to live in the land of the people.

Also watched this animation film and it was another gem. Visually a colorful and beautiful film. The story wasn't boring and it was interesting. Other than that the voices were good.
Not exactly a very well-known animation film, but still worth seeing.

I kinda like this style. What sometimes seems to be lacking in detail in the drawing style, is strongly reflected in the telling of the story. A fairy tale with dreamy animation. The story itself dates back to the 1950s after an Italian children's book. But by bringing the film adaptation to the essence, you also get a timeless representation with the animation from 2019. Colorful and simple, but also warm and atmospheric. Nice kid-friendly movie.

When storytellers Gideone [Simon Zwierts] and Almerina [Diala Horuz] encounter a silent bear in a large one, they try to entertain him with the story of the Famous Bear Invasion of Sicily. Bears and humans lived peacefully, without getting in each other's way. But when the Grand Duke [John Kraaykamp] has the son of Bear King Lorenzo [Frank Hoelen] kidnapped, the bear (sic!) is loose. After much insistence, Lorenzo decides to seek redress in a peaceful way. Much to his shock, his attempt ends in a pitched battle that threatens to lead to a long, bitter battle. The only person who can bring the humans and the bears together is De Ambrosiis [Ewout Eggink], a wizard and the Grand Duke's chief adviser. It may sound a bit violent for children, but Mattoti's inventive, regularly eye-catching animation direction makes this story suitable for all ages. Le Poole deserves praise for the quality of the voice acting of the Dutch spoken version of this exemplary mix of drama, suspense, humor and life lesson.
