Basquiat plot
"In 1981, a nineteen-year-old unknown graffiti writer took the New York art world by storm. The rest is art history."
After his discovery, the young graffiti artist Jean Michel Basquiat is immediately labeled as one of the greatest talents of the New York art scene. He joins the small circle of confidants around Andy Warhol. His paintings are popular with major museums and art collectors, and the media is pouring themselves into the first black artist to succeed in the mainly white-dominated art world. But as his star continues to rise, Basquiat continues to bend under the yoke of his own success. His life takes a fatal turn when he seeks refuge in the use of alcohol and drugs.
