A disappointing sequel to the nice first part "Stakeout (1987)".

The originality is hard to find in this part and the execution is also a bit disappointing. Richard Dreyfuss and Emilio Estevez somewhat save the film (especially the first) and the terribly annoying Rosie O'Donnell ruins the whole film in particular. She doesn't look like much at first and she isn't funny at all. She provides more in this film for image filling (literally and figuratively).

There are indeed a few nice jokes here and there, but it doesn't amount to much.

I quite agree with Theunissen. This sequel hardly amused me. The humor would still have worked with good comedians, but alas, I don't think Dreyfus has a talent for that and Estevez is already completely clumsy at comedies. O'Donnell is annoying, but I thought that was the point. The funniest scene was the neighbors they have to spy on who come over for dinner. I thought this long drawn-out scene that fell into absurdity worked quite well. Furthermore, it is not only the lack of talent, the crime plot was also far from fascinating and only comes into play in the last ten minutes.

An obligatory sequel, an appropriate 6 years after the original. Pretty much a copy of the idea, with a less fun setting as it should be for a sequel. And instead of the beautiful Stowe, we now have the annoying O'Donnell. Well, Stowe is there briefly and almost equally annoying, but for the sake of convenience, he is not even on the title role.

About the only thing the film has to offer is a credible bad guy from Miguel Ferrer - who is no longer with us, by the way. Unfortunately.
