Je suis zinzin! I'm crazy! It is one of the many angry exclamations, surrounded by theatrical facial expressions, by the fantastic Louis de Funès. He does this in the film adaptation of the 1958 play of the same name, in which he also played the leading role.

The source for the film is clearly visible. The setting of the film is strongly reminiscent of a stage performance. With the exception of a few negligible moments, the entire film takes place in one location. One large stage that represents the interior of a house with all kinds of rooms from which the characters continually enter and disappear from the large stage. A small playing field in which chaotic and turbulent actions come into their own. A beautiful (outdated) futuristic decor by the way.

The film is of course a comedy. A farce. The central figure in the film, in which the characters deal with money, deception and currency tricks, is Louis de Funès. He plays a cunning industrialist in his well-known, fantastically overwrought manner. A recognizable type that he portrays in several films. It's his trademark. He always plays the type with grandeur. Also here. His hurt facial expressions, angry gestures and flashing texts are simply wonderfully comic.

Oscar is wonderful entertainment.

What a great farce this is. A rollercoaster from start to finish with a Louis de Funès who acts at a high energy level even for his sake. In addition to Funès, we see some other old acquaintances from his films, such as Claude Gensac and Paul Préboist. What else can be added to this? Intelligent scenario with numerous gags. The interior of the house where it takes place looks swinging sixties, nice to see. Above all, I had a great time and give it full marks. That's all that matters to me with these types of films.

Louis de Funès was in full swing in this farce. For that time, the well-known humor of confusion and mistake, where in the end it almost all comes to a happy ending. The film keeps up sufficient pace with a beautiful setting despite the somewhat cliché jokes.
