Where parts 1 & 2 were decent, this is a superfluous film. Wafer-thin script. Nice action moments. But it hardly bothered me.
The whole thing went out like a night candle.

Part 1 was quite fun to watch, but the much inferior sequel left me wondering what part 3 would bring. What an improvement! The film makes an effort not to fall back into the cliché of the good guy vs the bad guys, but provides atmosphere, a wonderful setting, depth of character and a fascinating film score. An opening that immediately sets the tone. And then takes the time to calm the film down with wonderful tension. In most films (from this genre) you quickly get the good guy who goes through fall and rise to catch the bad guys. Usually the other figures are just decor. While here it is more decorated and it also looks more like a thriller than just an action sequel. Let it sink in for a moment, but I would dare to say that this is the best part of the franchise. And that is exceptional with the usually obvious sequels these days.
