"What is this thing called love ?" is the beginning and end, and Woody Allen has a very dark take on it with "Husbands and Wives" with a sarcastic approach to the hypocrisy and hipocrisy found in relationships and marriages. stings.

Typical Allen film, not the least one, with a lot of talk where drama and comedy lie side by side and where even the dramatic is not neglected to give a ludicrous touch.

Woody Allen is Woody Allen, as we know him, but his opponents are also excellent in their performance and Judy Davis was even praised for it. Justly.

Watched again (5th, 6th time?).

Everything is right here: sad and recognizable, yet with the necessary humour. All the actors play great, with Judy Davis sticking out just a little bit above I think.

And that music at the end credits tops it all off… great.

It's not for nothing that my favorite Allen and a top 10 film, now turned on the film again after years and the film does not disappoint this time either. I had to get used to the wild/free way of filming again, which is why it is smart that Woody tried to make half a documentary film of it, all characters get an interview (a psychologist?) but that also brings peace at the same time in the film because we then only focus on 1 character and the camera just stands still.

Husbands & Wives feels very realistic and the actors he chose for this are cast very strongly, by the way it is not noticeable in the film that Mia and Woody had problems exactly during this period and Woody came under fire, in fact I think It's one of the strongest performances Mia has given in a Woody Allen movie.

Liam Neeson in a sensitive and completely different role is also interesting!

5 remains 5!
