Kærlighedens Gerninger plot
A young woman's life is turned upside down by the arrival of her brother. As a member of a religious community that shuns the modern world and lives in seclusion on the Danish west coast, she has learned to adapt to the quiet community life. But the arrival of her brother makes her uneasy, and this does not go unnoticed by the leader of the community. He recognizes the emotional grief of the two and has them undergo a therapeutic ritual that draws on their memories and religious background. But the strong bond between the two threatens not only their psychological state, but also the peace of this world.

Jeppe Ronde's previous film Bridgend is ominous, dark and dramatically intense. In this film he repeats these ingredients. That is successful in itself, although the themes, a pious life and incest, may start to bother you after a while. The ending is not entirely surprising but is also intensely depicted.
