Fairly mediocre movie but not bad.

I still enjoyed it even though the acting was bad.

Special effects was still to be done.

It is clear that this film was made on a small budget:

- the story has little to do with it;

- the real story takes place between a limited number of paersons (about six) in a limited space (small town);

- the other extras are played by Romanian actors;

- most of the crew is also Romanian;

- the film was probably also shot in Romania.

Considering the above, I found the film to be quite entertaining. I thought the CGI was done quite well (by Oblique FX from Canada; I've seen much worse) and thought the story was pretty nice too. The actresses Cindy Sampson and Sanny Van Heteren are also quite good, but the male lead (James Marsters) is disappointing. The man shows no emotion. It would have worked a lot better with a different, better actor.

The variety in character types and the drawn-out action scenes ensure that this B-movie from director Kristoffer Tabori is somewhat watchable, otherwise it could easily have joined the rest of the similar junk. The screenwriters make no effort to be original with the content and thought they already had enough on paper by combining western with science fiction, which means that the film very quickly falls into predictable scenes. You don't need to set up High Plains Invaders for the effects, because the animations are (obviously) substandard. The acting is also variable, it mainly depends on the personalities themselves. One person gets a little more idiosyncrasy than the other and they perform better, but overall it is clear that the truly exceptional acting talent was not present on the set. It's not a long one, but I can't say that the entire film is devoid of boring moments.
