Bad Banks plot
The elusive Jana Liekam, a young bank employee, is a brilliant newcomer to the financial world and quickly climbs to great heights. However, she gets caught up in dirty business, loses her innocence, and pays a heavy price. She is even forced to damage her own bank. The result is a crisis that is completely out of control. However, Jana is very strong and will do everything she can to get through this.

I was a little wary after reading some critical reviews of Bad Banks' S2 but after a great first season this is a worthy sequel. At a sometimes inimitable pace, certainly in the first part, the financial world in Berlin and Frankfurt is closely followed in 6 episodes. Main character Jana (Paula Beer) is the pivot of the story, and she gives great meaning to her character. Alternately strong, vulnerable, annoying and sweet, she maneuvers through the world of start-ups, junk bonds, malpractice and takeovers. Barry Atsma gives her wonderful match in excellent German, with the occasional Dutch expletive. One of the best Dutch actors of the moment: im Ausland and abroad (The Split). And although almost all the characters behave unsympathetic, you still feel a kind of compassion. That layering is a strong point in a series that keeps you interested until the end.
