Black Earth Rising plot
As a child, Kate Ashby was rescued from the horrific aftermath of the Rwandan genocide and brought to the United Kingdom. There she is adopted by Eva, an international lawyer. They live in London and Eva works for Michael Ennis's law firm. When Kate's mother takes on a case from an African militia chief, it has major consequences for their lives.

In the beginning of the series we follow a female prosecutor who works for the International Criminal Court in The Hague. After a tragic incident, her adopted Rwandan daughter searches for answers and is confronted with her past. She is a survivor of the Rwandan genocide.
Because of the subject matter and also because of how the story is structured, it is sometimes a bit complicated. You have to keep your wits about you to keep up with the story.
It contains pieces of animated film.
The daughter, Kate, the main character, sometimes goes wild.
It contains very beautiful images. It is mainly set in the UK and Rwanda.
The series ends suddenly but they had to stop somewhere.
Definitely worth checking out, but all in all I expected more.
