Flint Lockwood (Bill Hader) is a failed inventor, who unfortunately has little success with creations such as a monkey mind translator. Until one day he invents a machine that makes it rain donuts, ice creams and meatballs. Flint's only friend and colleague is Steve, a monkey who only thinks about food. Sam (Anna Farris) is an enthusiastic intern who works for a weather station. She dreams of becoming a professional weather forecaster and that dream may come true when she is the only one to report a cheeseburger shower.

It's Raining Meatballs is a film with a story that is very original. It is not only funny and special, but also very pleasant in terms of atmosphere. The humor is good too. I just think this is a very good animation film with beautiful colorful images.

Like Lord and Miller's The Lego Movie, their Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs is an amusing, hyperactive and colorful fairground. The fortunately simple story contains little groundbreaking, but is a great excuse for a lot of amusing fun, where - as is often the case with these kinds of films - the small jokes are usually the funniest. The voice actors are fine and not too present and the characters very nice without being too loud. The nicest figure is the father who can show a lot of emotions with only a mustache and an eyebrow. And hey, Bruce Campbell as your mayor is never a bad choice.

Nice story that seems to have trouble with the ending but then still heads for a climax where the gigantic marshmallow from Ghostbusters is nothing. High joke density, fairly appealing characters, good pace, very entertaining. Bill Hader's voice is perfect for this, especially when he's going to rattle off lists of things at lightning speed. Sam Sparks: "You may have seen a meteor shower, but you've never seen a shower meatier than this!"
