How to Train Your Dragon plot

"One adventure will change two worlds"

The young Viking Hiccup lives on the island of Berk, where fighting dragons is a way of life. The teen's intelligence and quirky humor don't go down well with the tribesmen and the chief... none other than Hiccup's father. But when Hiccup gets dragon training along with other Viking boys, he sees his chance to prove that he's made to become a warrior. However, when he encounters a wounded dragon, his world is turned upside down, and what started as Hiccup's only opportunity to prove himself turns into a chance for a new future for the entire tribe.

This first part of the trilogy can still count on a charming story, especially because of the play between the young Hiccup and the dragon Toothless. The animation is not that special and the voices are quite poor. But the humor does work and with the maintained story, this has certainly become a pleasant film. The film has enough momentum to hold the attention, but fortunately it doesn't get too busy either.

Hiccup [Jay Baruchel] is the son of Stoick [Gerard Butler], the leader of a Viking tribe that has battled dragons for generations, who desperately crave his father's respect. But when he begins his training as a bear hunter, it turns out that he can't bring himself to kill a dragon. Initially, this makes him the laughingstock of the tribe, but his refusal to use violence has surprising consequences that will change his own life and that of the entire tribe forever. Perfect mix of adventure, drama and humor with an underlying message for adults, but children will enjoy the sharp characterizations and the well-developed friendship between Hiccup and dragon Toothless. Baruchel and Butler are great in the lead roles.

4.5 stars from me. I think it's a fun entertaining movie for the family! I'm just watching it for the second time and it's still fun. Well put together. Nicely made too. I think it looks nice, those "stunts" say the dragons fly to the "nest" if you saw it in 3D you "fly" with them. You just have to like Animated Movies. This is like like Disney/Pixar Only then Dreamworks I also like Minions/Despicable me for example or Shrek Enjoy 1.5 hours.
