Sonny Paluso watches his gas station go up in flames thanks to a carelessly discarded cigarette butt. Donald Quinelle, an unsuccessful sales manager, has just been fired by a parrot, his boss's pet. Jack Locke, a hit man discovers that his company 'The Gang' is struggling to survive. The three men share a common point of view: how to survive in a society where no one is safe from the economic chaos of our time.

He showed up at TCM yesterday and I remembered him right away. Still a nice film with Robin Williams, who acted well here. Matthau is one of my favorite actors and, as usual, did not disappoint me. Still, I think this is a fun funny movie. This was largely due to the special nature of this duo and the bizarre story. 3.5.

In the 1980s, a lot of lame comedies were made. Abrahams and Zucker were the masters at that and they had indeed made some pretty funny films. But apparently there were also those who wanted to surf that wave and even managed to get an actor like Robin Williams to do so. Quite a good actor, but not funny at all in this movie. And that also applies to the rest of the film and the infantile over the top story behind it. No, unfortunately I didn't laugh much during this movie. And also not really enjoyed the acting talent of Robin Williams.
