The Big Blockade plot
Underestimating Hitler in the 1930s, British propaganda uses the late 1930s to convince the public that they are prepared for a possible war. Big Blockade was produced in conjunction with the UK Ministry of the Economy and was intended to boost morale. In a documentary-like manner, the film underlines the importance of the economic blockade that England waged against Germany. An all-star cast (Michael Redgrave, Leslie Banks, John Mills, Robert Morley etc.) appears in short clips to dramatize the effect of the blockade and the reaction of the British public.
