Nice film about a girl who ends up on the wrong path with her friend. The story and progression are not very original and are not presented equally believably throughout. But the film remains entertaining and contains a number of good scenes. The two young leading actresses perform their roles with enthusiasm. Just under 3.5 stars for this otherwise excellent directorial debut.

In many ways comparable to the slightly better Bande de filles.

Definitely a good movie. Good grim atmosphere and the young actresses play a convincing role, especially Oulaya Amamra.

Best friends Dounia [Oulaya Amamra] and Maimouna [Déborah Lukumuena] grow up in a dreary suburb (banlieue) of Paris, but that doesn't stop them from daydreaming together about a future in which they can buy, do and do whatever they want. Dounia cunningly manages to ingratiate herself with Rebecca [Jisca Kalvanda], a powerful drug trafficker who gives Dounia a chance to make quick money. But then she meets Djigui [Kévin Mischel], who uses dance as an expression of his deepest feelings. An average coming-of-age story that gets a boost from inventive direction and excellent acting from the two leads who have a chemistry that a director can only dream of. Personal highlight: an inventively filmed scene in which Dounia and Maimouna fantasize about driving a brand new Ferrari.
