Madness of the Heart plot
A girl in London falls in love with a Frenchman and immediately goes blind. Convinced that her blindness is a punishment for her sins, she enters a monastery. Knowing she doesn't belong there, the sisters try to convince her to leave. After returning to normal life, the Frenchman marries her and they go to live in his parents' house. The girl feels like an unwelcome guest and feels that someone wants her dead. She talks about her fearful feeling, but no one believes her.
