If you like simulated sex and can't get enough of Rogowski cycling the streets of Paris like a man possessed, then this might be for you. The story of married couple Tomas [Franz Rogowski] and Martin [Ben Whishaw] and Tomas' affair with Agathe [Adèle Exarchopoulos] consists of bickering between characters so self-centered (and therefore unsympathetic) that even the extremely talented cast can't get anything interesting out of it to make. A waste of time and talent.

What a dragon of a movie. All fairly unsympathetic characters, but so bluntly acted that there is really no emotion, depth or involvement in the actors. I was looking at utter dullness. The whole plot is not very special and really revolves around the mutual relationships, but yes, they don't live anywhere. Visually not very special either, even those long bike rides that can be quite beautiful feel like copying behavior without any taste of its own. Kudos to those parents of Agathe who immediately realize what kind of beef they have in common with that guy. The nicest detail I thought was that Adèle Exarchopoulos is a teacher again as a profession. 1.0*.

A man's story between two relationships, where love and lust intersect and the distinction is sometimes lost. The actors create a realistic and humanly sad film with characters that are not always so sympathetic, but that's life, right? The three main actors and the story add some spice to the film. But it remains a bit too much on the plain and the chemistry between the figures does not always work. There certainly could have been more in this and you are left somewhat hungry. But not a bad movie per se.
