Part II is almost a fairytale whole. Dreamy is perhaps a better description. Lyudmila Savelyeva as Natasha Rostova transforms from a youthful playful girl to an adolescent girl who falls in love to a mature young lady with pangs of conscience. A beautiful role, by the way, full of dancing and wonderful tears of dreams that come true and burst like soap bubbles.

No battles this time, but a remarkable wolf hunt that ends through the eyes of the prey. On to Part III, which apparently consists mainly of battles, battles and more battles. Oh, for a change...

Reasonable part, which sometimes stands still a bit, but in the end it is still nice to see. The part is entirely dedicated to Natasha Rostov, a very nice appearance who looks a lot like the equally charming Audrey Hepburn. The emotions around Natasha Rostov are getting higher and higher ! It's like a tragic opera, a bit exaggerated, but a la it's okay. The production/execution was once again perfectly fine.

The second film is more Sissi-esque. Natasha Rostova takes center stage and navigates between several men. In a breathtaking scene in a huge ballroom, she meets Bolkonski who asks for her hand in marriage, but his absences make her doubt and becomes involved with a local playboy, Anatole Kuragin (who is also brother of Bezukhov's domineering wife). This film mainly shows the emotional jumps of a woman who is looking for the man of her life and therefore feels more like a transition film in the run-up to the third film. Unfortunately no battles, so I saw a romantic drama. Much less than the first.
