Great miniseries, about a true story that I didn't know much about. The series alternates tension and dialogue in a very good way. What stands out most are the good acting performances: Michael Shannon, Taylor Kitch, John Leguizamo.... but it is especially Paul Sparks who manages to convince me as the conscience of the 'cult'. Still, I'm not devastated by Waco. I would have liked to have seen a little more depth.

Waco is about the standoff between the Branch Davidian Sect and FBI and ATF agents in 1993. The Branch Davidians were a strange religious sect led by the charismatic leader David Koresh. There were multiple reports to authorities that the cult is guilty of child abuse and abuse. Unfortunately, that could not be confirmed, but when reports came in of illegal gun possession, Bureau of Alcohol, Tabacco and Firearms had ground to enter. This culminated in a shooting in which 6 members of the Branche Davidians were killed as well as 4 ATF agents and 16 agents were injured. This was followed by a siege that lasted 51 days and ended in a drama with 76 deaths, many of them children. Waco gives a rather one-sided picture of the events. The message from the makers is clear it is the fault of the authorities. This is a bit too short for me. The FBI and ATF made many mistakes, but they wanted to prevent a second Jonestown. The Branch Davidians were far from an alternative commune as they are portrayed and Koresh or Vernon Wayne Howell as his real name was, to say the least, was a dubious figure who had married several underage girls. The cast including Michael Shannon, Taylor Kitsch and Shea Whigham is top notch. The most catchy scene was: when Koresh decided to challenge the agencies with a performance. He performs The Scene's song I Still Believe along with some other members while the rest of The Branch listens like tame sheep being led to the slaughter.

Good mini-series about a commune suspected of having guns in their home. Based on a fascinating true story. However, it is also this story and the length that sometimes causes it to collapse (because it has been in an impasse for a long time). However, it clearly shows how the situation is getting completely out of hand by properly illuminating all sides.
