Boring messy mess is this in which our Star Trek friends go on another space adventure and try to find God. Yes, it will, it just doesn't come out. That lol pants humor is also very mediocre and actually I've had it with this franchise.

The first half didn't promise much, it's a very atypical Star Trek that luckily picks up a bit in the second part. In terms of story (quest for... God), unnecessary humor, a single action scene and the attention to gadgets, it is quite different from what you can expect from Star Trek. A small 2.5* for this movie that won't stay with me, one of the worst of the old Star Trek movies.

Good film in which the Enterprise is sent off when a hostage situation takes place in a neutral zone. It may take a while before the story really gets going, but the story itself is also very well linked to the characters afterwards. A good dose of humor, in which especially the interaction between Kirk, Spock and Bones remains entertaining.
